OBITUARY
HOUSE.
Joseph Jerome House, son of Charles Cadwell and Emmeline House, was born at Houseville, N. Y., February 10, 1853 and died at Mercy Hospital, Cresco, Ia., Monday, October 25, 1920, aged 67. He was the second child of a family of five.
The early part of his life was spent in northern New York. In 1886, he came to Howard County and started a cheese factory. With the exception of two years spent in Earlville, Iowa, he remained in this business until 1914 when he felt unable to continue. Since that time he has been associated with the Farmers’ Creamery Association, being secretary at the time of his death.
The immediate family left to mourn his death consist of his wife, son Neil, a step-daughter, Mrs. A. J. Thomson, and one sister, Mrs. John R. Roberts, of Turin, N. Y., who was unable to be present.
The funeral was held at the home of the deceased on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. W. A. Bockoven officiating, and interment was in Oak Lawn cemetery.Transcriber’s Note: Both Find a Grave and Oak Lawn Cemetery show the name as Jerome J. House. His gravestone shows J. J. House.
