OBITUARY
FISK
Mrs. Mary E. Fisk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Walker, was born in Dubuque Co., Iowa, April 6, 1849, and passed away at the home of her son Roy Fiske, at Cresco, Iowa, on Oct. 18th, 1920, at three o’clock in the morning, aged 70 years, six months and 12 days. Her early life she lived with her parents in Dubuque county. Her mother died when she was seven years old. From this place, at the age of sixteen, she moved with her father to McGregor, Iowa.
In 1869 she was united in marriage to Alonza Fisk, and moved to Howard County one year later, locating on a farm in Paris township. In 1881 they move to Cresco where her husband died about 21 years ago. Seven children were born to this union, Wallace, Will, Roy and Charles, of Cresco, Clive of Monticello, Minn., Gordon of St. Charles, Ill., and one daughter, Mrs. Irene Phoenix, of Burbank, Cal. Besides her children, the deceased leaves surviving her one brother, Will Walker, of Cresco, two half-brothers, R. L. Walker of Minneapolis, Minn., and Dell Woodworth of McGregor, Iowa, and three half sisters, Mrs. Lottie Hastings, of Detroit, Mich, Mrs. Carrie Lord, of Mihneapolis{sic}, Minn., and Mrs. Estella Patterson of Cresco.
For a number of years she attended the Baptist church and united later with the S. D. A. church of Cresco in 1914. Her heart’s desire was to be faithful to the Lord unto the end.
The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at the Adventist church, conducted by Rev. F. W. Meyers, of Waterloo, Iowa. She was laid at rest beside her husband in New Oregon cemetery.Card of Thanks

Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone shows her name spelled Fiske and that she was born in 1850 which does not agree with the above.
