OBITUARY
Siddall.
Another octogenarian and old settler has gone. Mr. Siddall was well and favorably known in Howard county for 66 years. He was an unassuming and kind hearted man and naturally made many friends.
He was taken to his bed last June and suffered for more than four months until relieved by death last Thursday.
The funeral was held Sunday at the house, conducted by Rev. Guy Rutherford.
The burial was at the New Oregon cemetery.
James A. Siddall was born at Southhold Canada West Sept. 21, 1838. When a child he removed with his parents to Illinois. In 1854 he came to Howard county and resided here until his death which came October 14, 1920.
In 1862 he was united in marriage with Elizabeth M. Gallahan. Four children were born to this union.
Charles of Cresco, Mrs. T. A. Owen of Mankato, Minn., Mrs. Fred Salisbury of Lime Springs, Mrs. Claude Evans of Bagley, Minn.
Mrs. Salisbury preceded him in death about ten years ago. The rest of the children are living and were present at his death, excepting Mrs. Evans. He leaves 11 grandchildren and other relatives who will miss his kindly presence. His friends at the Court House remembered him in many ways during his sickness. He bore his suffering patiently and was anxious to go home and be with his Saviour.
Mr. Siddall was a good man, loved and honored by all who knew him.
The sympathy of all go out to the aged wife and children who have lost a loving husband and father.
