Arthur Snyder, of Preston, Minn., and Fred Maurer and son Alfred of Chester were here to attend the funeral of Mrs. Wm. R. Burr, returning to their homes the first of the week.

Mrs. George Painton returned Monday to Monona after a visit here at the home of her neice,{sic} Mrs. Henry Smith. Mrs. Painton was called here by the death of Mrs. Smith’s daughter, Mrs. Will Burr.

Mr. and Mrs. John Smith, of Elliott, Iowa, were here to attend the funeral of their neice,{sic} Mrs. Will Burr, returning to their home the first of the week.

OBITUARY
Burr.
Edith Luella Smith was born Oct. 20, 1896, in Cresco and died Sept. 23, 1920, after an illness of two weeks. On Aug. 2, 1916 she was united in marriage to Wm. R. Burr and to them one child, Samuel William, age three years was born.We miss the{e} from our home, dear Luella,
We miss thee from thy place,
A shadow o’er our life is cast,
We miss the sunshine of thy face,
We miss the kind and loving hand,
Thy fond and earnest care.
Our home is dark without thee,
We miss thee everywhere.The funeral was held from her late residence, Saturday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. Pettit of the Baptist church, officiating, with interment in New Oregon Cemetery.
