Died in France.

Mr. and Mrs. August Lauck received a telegram Thursday announcing that it is officially reported that their son William J. Lauck died in France on Nov. first. Death was due to spinal meningitis. Thus another Howard county boy made the supreme sacrifice in defense of his country and will be enrolled on the nation’s list of honored heroes. The sympathy of the community is extended {t}o the bereaved family.—Elma New Era.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born July 30, 1894 and is buried in St. Pauls Lutheran Cemetery in Maple Leaf, IA.
