Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Barth mourn the loss of their baby, Dorothy, aged two years, who passed away yesterday afternoon from pneumonia following an attack of influenza. The little one was thought to be recovering until yesterday morning. The sorrowing family have the sympathy of the entire community in their loss.

OBITUARY
Barth.
Dorothy Edith Barth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Barth, was born July 12, 1916, at Cresco, Iowa, where her short but happy life was spent.
She was always a delicate child and when attacked by Spanish influenza, culminating in pneumonia, she was unable to rally and passed away Oct. 31, 1918.
This in brief is a record of her life, but her real story is written in the hearts of those who loved her best, in the memory of days filled to overflowing with the joy of her companionship.
Being the youngest of a large family she was the pet and plaything of brothers and sisters alike, but was entirely unspoiled by the homage she received. She was of such a peculiarly sweet and winning nature that no one could resist her charm. Being just at the run-away age, she fluttered in and out of the neighbor’s houses like a beam of sunshine and a shadow has fallen upon the entire neighborhood now that her bright presence is withdrawn.
There are left to mourn her death, her parents, two sisters, Marion and Frances, and two brothers, Harry and Burton, besides a large circle of other relatives and friends.
A short service was held at the home Saturday morning conducted by Rev. W. A. Bockoven of the First Congregational church.
Covered with beautiful flowers, herself the fairest blossom of them all, she was laid to rest beside her brother and other relatives at New Oregon cemetery. – A Friend.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she was born June 11, 1916 which does not agree with the above. Her gravestone also shows June 11, 1916.
