M. E Guyette, son of Frank Guyette, now of Chicago but for many years a resident of Lourdes, Howard County, Iowa, died on September 8th from wounds received on the field of battle in France. Eddie Guyette, as he was best known at his birth-place in Lourdes, Iowa, held important interests in a large cattle ranch in Montana where he made his home with his sister, Mrs. E. J. Mulick, for five years previous to his volunteering for service. He survived many engagements on the French front in the Artillery.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Sept. 2, 1882. He is buried in the Duisans British Cemetery in Etrun, France
