Lorraine Elizabeth Goetsch, age 61, left this world on the winds of winter on January 13, 2024 at home surrounded by her family.

Lorraine was born March 20, 1962 to Lawrence and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Goetsch, the third of seven girls, in Cresco Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in Assumption Catholic Parish. She graduated from Crestwood High School going on to study accounting in Calmar at NICC.

A motivated learner of all things, Lorraine went on to earn two more degrees, one in business administration and one in health care. She continued at Winona State University and the University of St Mary’s earning two master's degrees.

While Lorraine was proud to contribute her talents to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota her real love was the family farm, Lucky 7 Ranch. She worked almost 30 years in the financial counseling area at the Mayo Clinic while continuing to manage and work on the farm even after her dad passed away in 2002.

Besides farming and working for the Mayo Clinic, Lorraine found time to preserve an abundance of garden produce (be sure to return the glass canning jars). She enjoyed classic movies, old time radio programs, and fixing things. People who worked with her quickly learned of her propensity for neat organization and her meticulousness. Not many people knew that she dedicated a lot of time researching how to fix things and solve problems. She worked on all the machinery on the farm replacing parts and maintenance.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her dad, Lawrence E. Goetsch.

She is survived by her mother Elizabeth Goetsch, Sisters: Sylvia (Daryel) Moe, Patsy (Brent) Bronner, Nancy Goetsch, MaryBeth Masen, Lois Leifeld, and Laura (Edward) Becker. Nieces and nephews, Sarah Bronner, Robyn (Kellen) Wells-Mangold, Mitchell Leifeld, Elizabeth Becker, Eddie Becker. Great niece and nephew, Breyker Wells-Mangold and Willa Wells-Mangold.

Her memory will always be cherished.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials can be directed to Winn-Med Hospice Services, your local Hospice organization, or cancer research.
