Margaret Viola, the ten year old daughter of Will Cummings, passed away Monday evening, at their home in Orleans township, after an illness of several months from heart trouble. The funeral was held Wednesday morning from the Church of the Assumption, with interment in St. Joseph’s cemetery. The family have the sincere sympathy of all in their sorrow.

Margaret Viola, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cummings, was born in Howard County, Iowa, June 21, 1903, and on October 20, 1913, she departed this life to join her little sister Irene in that Home of the Blessed.
Few and short were the years allotted to her, in which to brighten the home of her loved ones. God in His mercy called the loving one to Him, away from this world of strife and sorrow and pain, and though we miss her and our hearts are sad, we would not recall her again.
Margaret was a bright, loving child, and by her cheerful disposition won the hearts of all who knew her. Though she had been ailing for some time, her untimely death was a sudden shock to her loved ones. She bore her sufferings bravely, seldom uttering a complaint, and not until Sunday, when the last spark of celestial fire was at its lowest ebb did she give up. All that loving hands could do was done, but all in vain. She gradually grew weaker until Monday night, when death came to her softly as sleep to a babe. Little we deemed it possible, as we looked upon her radiant with joy and happiness, a short time ago, that the seared leaves of autumn would be rustling over her grave.
She leaves to mourn her loss, a sorrowing father, mother, three sisters and five brothers, many relatives and a host of friends.
After a Requiem Mass and an eloquent sermon as a last loving tribute to the departed, by Rev. Father Murtagh, all that was mortal of dear Margaret was laid to rest beside her little sister in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery.
