Roger Foote, age 73, of Lime Springs, Iowa passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020, at Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin, surrounded by his family, after a difficult battle with cancer.

Roger John Foote was born on February 27, 1946 in Cresco, Iowa to Floyd and Eva (Nicoll) Foote. He attended Country School through 8th grade and graduated from Cresco High School in 1964. Following graduation Roger hauled milk with his Dad for the Cresco Creamery.

On August 12, 1965 he married Donna Gates. Donna and Roger were blessed with two children, Shelley and Steve.

Roger worked for Thermogas in Lime Springs and later became the manager. After working at Thermogas he was fortunate to retire.

Roger enjoyed Nascar, the Minnesota Vikings and going to many of the grandkids motor cross races.

Roger is survived by his wife Donna of 54 years, a daughter, Shelley (Dan) Bolton of Farmington, MN. Steve (Kerre) Foote of Cresco, grandchildren: Caleb (Missy) Bolton, Evan (Patty) Bolton, Ashlea (Jeremy) Anderson. Abbe (Dustin) Foote, Riley and Alle Foote, eight great-grandchildren, sisters: Elinor Taylor of Ionia, IA Connie (Roger) Ihrke of Elgin, MN, a brother David (Vickie) Foote of Fate, TX, brothers in-law Dick (Carol) Gates of Cresco, David (Hazel) Gates of Lafayette, CO and a sister-in law Charlene Gates of Lime Springs.

He is preceded in death by his parents, mother and father in-law two brother in- laws, and one sister in-law. Roger never met a stranger and always had a beer for everyone.

He will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him.
