WEAKLAND.
Barbara Fye was born March 18, 1846, in Pennsylvania. She was united in marriage, June 17, 1866, to Frank Schaefer. To them were born ten children, six of whom survive her death: Frank and William Schaefer, of Cresco; Herman Schaefer, of Lime Springs; Mrs. Dell Young, of Preston, Minn.; John Schaefer, of Preston, Minn. Jacob Schaefer, of Cresco.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Thomas Weakland, July 5, 1911.
After an illness of about five months she passed away at her home on Tuesday evening, at the age of 68 years, 3 months and 27 days.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist church, Thursday afternoon, Rev. F. Clifford Shaffer officiating. Burial was at New Oregon.

Transcriber’s Note: The last name is spelled several ways; however, I am not sure which is correct as no cemetery information is shown in New Oregon Cemetery. Both Weaklen and Weakland show up in Howard County cemeteries.
