Wedding Anniversary.
Wednesday evening Mr. and Mrs. George Brown were made the victims of a surprise, perpetrated upon them by a large company of their numerous friends, assisted by members of the W. O. W. and W. C., the occasion being to celebrate their 34th wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Brown were invited by members of the family to attend the show in town, and were inveigled into going to the Woodmen hall to listen to a lecture, and to quote Mr. Brown, “It was one of the best lectures we ever attended."
The evening was pleasantly passed in social conversation and the renewing of old acquaintances, while cards and dancing was indulged in by those so inclined. During the evening a bountiful lunch was served, to which all did ample justice.
Mr. and Mrs. Brown were the recipients of three elegant pieces of furniture—a sideboard and two rockers. The guests departed at a late hour, leaving Mr. and Mrs. Brown rich with their hearty expressions of good will and well wishes.
