P. A. Clemmer has made a sale of his stock of jewelry and silverware to Mr. S. Callison, formerly of Dexter, Iowa, who is one of the live and up-todate business men of the state and at one time was secretary of the National Retail Jewelers’ Association, and also editor of “The Bulletin,” the official organ of the Jewelers’ Associations of Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska. Mr. Callison had intended to enter into exclusive optical business in Des Moines, but Mr. Clemmer made him so attractive a proposition that he decided to locate in Ciesco. Last November Mr. Callison sold his $12,000 stock at Dexter and bought land near Le Roy, and it was to enable him the better to look after this property that helped induce him to locate in Cresco.

Mr. Callison will continue the business in the Clemmer building for the present, Mr. Clemmer having agreed to refit and improve the store room, and will build up the stock by buying a large amount of new goods. Mr. Greenhalgh, who has been conducting a jewelry repair department in the Clemmer store, has moved his bench to the Wonder Store, giving Cresco five working jewelers.

Mr. Callison will bring his own watch repair outfit to Cresco, and will also devote special attention to the optical business it being his purpose to fit up a separate optical parlor for this line of work.

We are greatly pleased to add Mr. Callison to the ranks of Cresco’s business men. His previous activities in the business world are sufficient to recommend him as a genuine booster and live business man who can be depended upon to do his share in making a bigger and better Cresco.
