Death Claims Another

Aged resident of Henry Co and native of Ohio.

Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Smith.

Had lived here with her husband for more than fifty years-was well known over county-Funeral today.

The death of Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Smith occurred at her home about one mile south of the city this morning at 12:30 o'clock.
Mrs. Smith was born in Guernsey County, Ohio over seventy-five years ago. She came to Iowa in 1860 and in 1863 she was married to Mr. John P. Smith of this county. In this union were born five children, three of who are still living, two sons and one daughter. They are: Mr. Bertram E. of this city; Mrs. Jessie Smith Conner of near Swedesburg and Mr. J.N. Smith of Washington, Iowa. There are two step-children, W.L. Smith who resides at home, and J.M. Smith of Morning Sun, Iowa.
Mrs Smith has been a member of the Methodist Church since she was fifteen years of age. The funeral will be held from the home Friday morning at eleven o'clock, conducted by Re. H.A. Ingham of the M.K. church and interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
