HAMPTON-Harold A. Johnson, 81, of Hampton, died Friday, July 19, 2002 at the Hampton Care Center. Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home of Hampton and Bayview Funeral home of Albert Lea, Minn., were in charge of arrangements. Burial was at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Albert Lea.
Harold was born Aug. 30, 1920, at Dodge Center, Minn., to Henry and Ethel Clark Johnson. He was educated in Dodge Center Schools and served in the United States Army from 1942-54. On Nov. 16, 1946, he married Dorothy Yennie in West Concorde, Minn. After his discharge he did road maintenance for the State of Minnesota. He was a Methodist and a member of VFW and DAV. He enjoyed drinking coffee with friends, fishing, hunting and camping in his younger years.
He is survived by a son David of Denver, Iowa; a daughte,r Shirley Hert, and husband Edward Sr. of Hampton; one sister and five brothers and their wives all of Minnesota; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister; six brothers; and a grandson.
