June 20, 1924-July 6, 2002

ELDORA-Betty A. Owings, 78, of Eldora, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at Valley View Nursing Center in Eldora. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 6, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora with Pastor David Spleet officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memory Garden in Eldora. Visitation will be Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until service time. A memorial fund has been established.

Betty was born June 20, 1924, in Eldora to Otto H. and Minnie A. Teske Rosine. She was raised in Eldora and graduated from Eldora High School in 1941. On March 28, 1943, Betty was united in marriage to Martin "Lew" Owings, in Seattle, Wash. While in Seattle, Betty worked at Douglas Aircraft. In 1947 they moved to Eldora where she worked at the Infant Seat Company for a number of years. Later she was employed at Dodger Industries until retirement in 1989. Betty was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora.

Survivors include three sons Ronald and his wife, Cec, of Iowa City, Dennis and his wife, Kathleen, of Eden Prairie, Minn., David of Eldora; seven grandchildren; three brothers Richard Rosine of Eldora, Don "Shorty" Rosine of Eldora, and Arthur Rosine and his wife, Wanda, of Webster City; a sister, Doris Kallem, and her husband, Merlin, of Eldora

Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora is in charge of arrangements.
