NEW PROVIDENCE-Louise G. Martin, 90, of New Providence, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at her home. Services were held Friday, May 17 at the Honey Creek-New Providence Friends Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Arlen Daleske officiated.

Louise was born Nov. 26, 1911, in Hubbard, to Emil and Minnie Runkhe Voll. She attended Hubbard School and in 1935 married Glen Martin in New Providence. They moved to the family farm in Providence Township, Hardin County. Following his death in 1942, she married Vern Martin in 1964 and lived on the Martin farm for 67 years. She was a member of the Honey Creek-New Providence Friends Church where she had been involved in the women's group.

She is survived by a son Warren, and his wife, Linda, of New Providence; three daughters, Arlene Praska and husband, Marvin, of Evansdale, Fred Jane Berns and husband, Richard, of Dubuque, and Janice Roberts and husband, Ralph, of Gainesville, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Rita Martin of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Freda Crosser, of Eldora; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Voll of Lorimar; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a son, Kenneth; a granddaughter, Carrie Berns; two sisters, and three brothers.

Biersborn Funeral Home of Union, was in charge of arrangements.
