The Attempted Murder In Hardin County-

McComas, the young man who shot Jno. Drough, in Hardin County has not yet been arrested. The Iowa City Republican gives the following particulars of the tragedy: Drough says that he and McComas, who was temporarily a clerk in the store of Foster & Hess, were riding through Hardin County. They had a span of horses and a buggy from Van Fleet’s stable, and McComas complaining of being tired asked him to drive. He took the reins and was leaning forward in the buggy, when McComas probably took the pisto; from his pocket and shot him through the neck. Drough then fell or jumped from the buggy and received another shot, after which hed made through the bushes and came in sight of a house. A boy gave the alarm to some men who were near by, and they met McComas as he was returning to plunder his victim after hitching his horse in the brush. The surprise was so sudden that he was obliged to leave horses, buggy, Drough and all and attend particularly to himself.
