The notorious horse thief, A. J. Reed, arrested some time ago and recently up for trial in Hardin County, has confessed his crimes, as we see by the Eldora ledger. He has acknowledged stealing over two thousand horses during his career of robbery, and said that he has never yet caught with one in his possession. He desires to go to prison, so he says, to escape the vengeance of his thieving associates, who he claims will kill him for confessing should they be able to reach him. He is under strong guard, and will be accommodated with a term in the state penitentiary.
