Patricia Ann Spangler
Patricia Ann Spangler, 76, of Britt, Iowa, passed away Saturday September 21, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa, in Mason City, Iowa.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 24 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt with Father Michael Schueller officiating. Organist was Mary Kopacek and Louise Zrostlik was vocalist.
Casketbears were Lawrence R. Kayser, Jr., Matt Braga, Ron Braga, David Spangler, Paul Smidt and Jon Kayser. Ushers were Charlie Ward
and Marvin Holck.Interment was in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Britt. Ewing Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Patricia Spangler, daughter of William B. and Glenne B. Sheridan Spangler, was born January 26, 1926, in Britt, Iowa. She attended school in Britt, graduating from Britt High School with the class of 1944. She then attended and graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College near Terra Haute, Indiana and received her M. A. from the University of Wisconsin.
Following her graduation, Patricia taught Spanish and English in Benton Harbor High School in Benton Harbor Michigan for 19 years and St. Joseph High School in St. Joseph, Michigan for 10 years. Patricia retired and returned to Britt in 1978.
Patricia was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt and CD of A Court of St. Catherine Sienna. She enjoyed playing bridge with friends.
Patricia is survived by two sisters: Evelyn M. Long of Eagle Grove and Doloris M. Kayser of Webster City; two brothers: Ronald Spangler and his wife Betty, of Mission Viejo, California and Paul E. Spangler and his wife Patricia L., of Britt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother William S. Spangler, Sr.
