Graveside services for Leonard Brozik, 89, of Liberal, KS, who died Monday, June 3, 1996, will be held Saturday, June 15, 1:30 p.m., at Concord Cemetery in Garner. A Vigil Service was held Thursday, June 6, 7 p.m., at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal, KS. Kitch Funeral Home of Liberal, KS, is in charge of arrangements.

Friends are invited to meet with the family at the Senior Citizens Center following the service.

Leonard Brozik, the son of James and Mary (Fiala) Brozik, was born June 5, 1906 in Garner.

January 15, 1927, he married Ann Erdman in Garner. He married Constance Bell on September 8, 1956, in Sioux Falls, SD.

He farmed at Garner until 1944; owned the B & B Implement Company at Clarion until 1957; and lived in Fort Lauderdale, FL, until 1989 when he moved to Liberal.

He is survived by his daughter, Elaine Schmidt and her husband, John of Liberal, KS; two grandsons, Chris Schmidt of Greeley, CO, and
Bob Schmidt of Durango, CO; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Edward Brozik of Garner.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Harry, Joe, Vennie, William and Frank; and two sisters, Mamie Chizek and Ella Kulas.

June 5, 1949, he married Gladys I. Mikesh. He then farmed on an acreage at the Old Mill Dam south of Rowan and worked for A.R. Dorr and Sons Construction for 30 years.

Edwin's treasured moments were when he worked at his workbench, building or repairing things. He also took delight in gardening, flowers and vegetables. He enjoyed analyzing the weather and was good at predicting it. Edwin loved watching a beautiful sunrise and sunset. He always knew what the weather would be like based on this and seeing changes in the animals he watched, squirrels and birds. Edwin built houses and feeders for these little friends.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys; his children, Charles Krivachek and his wife, Lois of Foit Dodge, Ronald Shahan
and his wife, Linda of Cedar Falls, Kathlyn M. Shahan of Honolulu, HI, and Edwin Shahan Jr. and his wife, Martha of Clear Lake; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Stanley Shahan and his wife, Edith of Ames, and Orville Shahan and his wife, Mikey of Mesa, AZ; one sister, Ada Hughes of Clear Lake; two brothers-in-law, Charles Mikesh and his wife, Wanda of Belmond, and George Mikesh and his wife, Emily of Goodell; and six- sisters-in-law, Colina Haan and her husband, Bob of Miller, Grace Zaspel of Goodell, Ruby Dwyer of Harper's Ferry, Connie Roley of Annadale, MN, Ardith Shahan and Dorothy Shahan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Howard in infancy, and Caroll; and one sister, Lola-Pals.
