Services for Minnie Johanna Schwisow, 91, of Ventura, who died Tuesday, June 7, 1988 at Good Shepherd Center in Mason City, were held 1:30 p.m., Friday, June 10 at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Garner, with Rev. Reynold Petersen as officiant.

Mrs. Louise Boehnke served as organist. Ushers were Arlo Woiwood and Warren Thada.

Casket bearers were Tom Boehnke, Brian Wessner, Scott Wells, Darwin Avery, Steve Brouwer and David Pueggel.

Burial was at St. John's Cemetery in rural Garner. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.

Minnie Johnanna Schwisow, the daughter of Dietrich and Adelheid (Kuhlman) Kracke, was born January 18, 1897 at Plymouth, NE. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Plymouth. She also attended parochial school at Plymouth College in Deshler, NE.

August 2, 1925, she married Carl C. Schwisow at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Plymouth. After her husband's death in January of 1957, she continued to live in Ventura.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of rural Garner.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Ruth Wessner of Independence, and Mrs. Adelaide Brager and her husband, Marvin, of Ventura; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; her parents; 2 brothers and 2 sisters; and a son-in-law.
