Services for Herman H. Schmidt, 75, of Klemme, who died November 18, at his home, were held Thursday, Nov. 21, at 1:30 p.m. at the Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ in Klemme with Rev. Julius Rechtermann officiating.

Music was provided by organist Ione Beier and vocal music was performed by Lyle Goll, Milvern Barz, Curt Stadtlander, Gordon Beier, Ron Brinkman, David Boelman, Ardell Rosendahl and Richard Baack.

Casket bearers were Everett Guth, Marvin Schmidt, Leland Hummel, Merle Klinge, Roger Schmidt, and Verner Priebe. Interment was in Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme.

Tenold Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Herman Henry Schmidt, the son of William C. and Lena Wacker Schmidt, was born June 28, 1910, in Twin Lake Township, Hancock County. He was baptized on October 30, 1910.

Herman attended Liberty, Twin Lake, and Klemme Schools. He was confirmed on April 20, 1925, at the Immanuel Reformed Church in Klemme.

He was united in marriage to Edna Priebe on September 3, 1931, by Rev. Grossheusch at Immanuel Reformed Church in Klemme. They farmed southwest of Klemme from 1932 to 1978 when they moved to Klemme.

Herman was twice a Deacon of Immanuel Church, served as an Elder, as Sunday School Superintendent, and was on the Building Committee for the educational wing of the church. He also served six years on the Klemme School board, six years on the Klemme Elevator Board, on the Klemme Area Development Organization, and the Klemme Apartment Board. He was a member of the Klemme Lions' Club for a number of years.

Herman loved farming as his vocation for a lifetime, and lived for his faith and family.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Edna; one son Luverne and wife Mary Ann of Garner; four grandchildren, Connie Schmidt of Clear Lake, Lonnie and wife Christine of Goodell, Jamie and wife Beth of Garner, and Steven and wife Chris of Britt; four great-grandchildren, Leah, Stephanie, Adam and Brittney.
