Edith Buck, age 88, of Jewell, died Monday, October 8, 2012 at Westhaven in Boone. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell. Friends called one hour prior to services at the church. Becker Funeral and Cremation Service of Jewell is caring for Edith and her family.
Edith Frances Dickerson was born September 14, 1924 in Raleigh, North Carolina to Kenneth and Espie (Gillespie) Dickerson. She grew up in the Raleigh area and graduated from high school there. On December 8, 1945, Edith married Kenneth Paul Buck in Washington, D.C. She was a clerical worker and retired from Farm Bureau. Edith was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell. She enjoyed camping with Kenneth and family, sewing, and working in the garden. She loved her dogs and being a snowbird with Kenneth.
Edith is survived by her husband, Kenneth of Jewell; grandchildren, Tina (Wayne) Lynn, Jennifer Buck, Anthony (Kristi) Buck and Felicia Buck; great-grandchildren, Ashley Jorgesen, Shelby Lynn, and Khloe Buck; two great-great-grandsons, Christopher and Eli Jorgesen; daughter-in-laws, Deb Buck of Huntsville, Alabama and Lori Peterson Buck of Jewell; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Fern Reitmeyer of Cory, Indiana; and sister-in-law Marie Buck of Dwight, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Paul and Charles Buck, and her brother, Ralph Dickerson.
