William L. Beach, a former resident of Stratford, passed away at his home at Norcross, Minn., and the remains were brought to this place and interred in Oakwood cemetery Saturday. Deceased was for many years a resident of Stratford and is remembered by many of the older citizens of this place.
William L. Beach was born in Lafayette, Wis., Jan. 6, 1858, where he grew to manhood. On June 16, 1881, he married Anna M. Stewart and he and his wife came to Stratford, Iowa shortly afterward to make their home.
To them were born three children: William Warren, who died in fancy, Mrs. Clara Alice Howard and Chas. H. Beach of Norcross, Minn.
The family made their home for a number of years in Stratford and then moved to Ayrshire. In 1904 they moved to Norcross, Minn., where he lived until his death during the first days of September. He also leaves to mourn his death, two brothers, B.H. Beach of Elkhorn, Wis., and I.D. Beach of Lake Beulah, also Mrs. L. June Humphrey of New Rochelle, N.Y.
Funeral services were held here at the M.E. church Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Chas. H. Flesher, and the remains were laid to rest in Oakwood cemetery.[both his obituary and his wife's - Anna M. Stewart Beach have two different spellings for her maiden name]
