Swen Swenson

After a sickness of about six years, Swen Swenson passed away Thursday, Aug. 30, at 4 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Chas. Sprow of Kamrar, where he had made his home the last few years. Death was due to paralysis. He was born at Renneso, Stavanger, Norway, Oct. 24, 1850, being 77 years, 10 months and 6 days at the time of his death.

In the spring of 1873 he emigrated to America, first locating at Leland, Ill., for five years. On Nov. 3, 1882, he was married to Miss Hattie Gudmonson Bjerga. For several years they farmed near Leland and in the spring of 1891 they came to Hamilton county, first renting a farm near Rosendale. They then bought a farm where he lived 35 years.

Three children were born to this union, Linnie died as an infant, a son, Gilbert died when 16 years old. His wife passed away 14 years ago. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Charlie Sprow.
