OBITUARY

Mrs. Jacob Taig was the daughter of Martha and Torkel Heggen born Nov. 15, 1862, in Olen, Fjelberg parish, Norway, where she received her education and Christian training in the Lutheran faith.

In 1881 she, together with her oldest brother, immigrated to America, settling at Gardner, Ill., where she remained until 1883 when she came out to Story county to join the rest of her family, residing in the neighborhood of Huxley.

In 1886* she was married to Mr. Jacob Taig of Rosendale, at which place they have conducted a mercantile business. Her sickness dates back a couple years ago when she began to feel something was ailing, and medical aid was sought. On May 30th last she had an attack of hemorrhage and since then gradually got weaker until the Lord in His love summoned her to His heavenly home, August 25, 1927.

She leaves to mourn her departure her beloved husband, one daughter, Mrs. Albert E. Jacobson, four grand children; two sisters, Mrs. H. J. Hill and Stina Heggen, and one brother, J. T. Heggen, all of Story City, together with a large number of near relatives, neighbors and friends.

Funeral services were conducted from the home at St. Pauli church, and interment was made in St. Pauli cemetery, Rev. Hans Oppedal officiating. A large gathering of friends and acquaintances was present to pay the last tribute and farewell as a token of esteem and respect to the departed and her family.

Peace be with her soul and blessed be her memory.
