Georgia Skiye, 81, Webster City, died Thursday, May 24, 2001 at Crestview Manor. Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 29 at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. John Grebner officiating. Burial will be in the Lake Lutheran Cemetery, west of Goldfield. Visitation will be an hour before the service time. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral Home.

Georgia Elizabeth Gray, daughter of Frank and Lydia Gray, was born Feb. 1, 1920 at Eagle Grove. She attended Eagle Grove schools, graduating in 1937. She attended Normal School Training and taught in rural schools in Lake Township. On April 12, 1940 she married Hilman Skiye at Blue Earth, Minnesota. The couple farmed in Lake Township. In 1959, they retired from farming and moved to Webster City. She worked at Ostlund's Jack and Jill Clothing and for 20 years as an insurance processor at Hamilton Hospital. She retired in 1982. The couple had wintered in Mission, Texas.

Mrs. Skiye is survived by her husband, Hilman, daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Larry Carstens of Blairsburg, Jean and Bill Madison of Goldfield, Jane and Clark Byers of Des Moines, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, sisters, Florence Christensen of Bloomington, Mn., Laura Erschman of Los Angeles, Ca., several nieces and nephews and many Mission, Texas friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Ida Browning and Mildred Farley.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Good Sam Club and the Hawkeye Dodger Camping Group.
