Lowell Clair Olson, 55 died early Monday morning in the Veterans hospital in Des Moines, He had entered the hospital last Thursday. He had a heart condition and pneumonia and other complications contributed to his death.
A native of the Coon Rapids area, Mr. Olson had been a resident of Yale for the last several years.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p m from the Yale Church of Christ. The minister, A Eugene Locking, officiated.
Lowell Clair Olson, son of Martin L and Lola M (Renshaw) Olson was born in Audubon county near Viola Center March 5, 1918. There he grew to manhood and attended school. In 1942 he joined the Armed Forces, serving 3 1/2 years with the 34th. Infantry Division in the Pacific.
May 29, 1946 he was untied in marriage to Caroline Bowman in Coon Rapids.
For the past 17 years he has lived in Yale, working at construction work and he and his wife operated a small rest home.
Clair was a member of the Yale Church of Christ.
Clair passed away May 14 in the Veterans hospital in Des Moines following several months of failing health. He was 55 years, two months and five days old.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Caroline; brother, Lynn Olson of Coon Rapids; sister, Mrs. Eugene (Lois) Nelson of Sioux Falls, S D; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
