Fred Dunteman died suddenly Wednesday morning at the Bayard Care Center. He had entered the Center only Tuesday evening, having spent more than a year in a nursing home in Sac City.
Son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Dunteman, Fred was born August 26, 1918, in Marshalltown. He moved with his family to Bagley when he was a child and they made their home in Bagley for more than 20 years when they engaged in the grocery business.
The family later moved to Illinois and Fred stayed with his parents until their deaths. Since then he has lived in nursing homes in Iowa.
The body was taken to the Merchant Funeral Home in Yale where it will remain until time for the funeral. A rosary will be prayed and scripture will be read tonight at 7:30 p m in the Funeral Home. Fr Frank Palmer of Bayard officiate.
Also, he will celebrate the mass of the resurrection in Mr. Dunteman's honor Friday morning. This service will be held from St Joseph's Catholic Church in Jamaica, Interment will be made in St Mary's cemetery near Jamaica.
Survivors include two brothers and two sisters. They are Ronald Duntemen of Ripon, Wisc; Mrs. Everett (Helen) Cain of Herndon; Mrs. Barbara Francia of Denver, Colo, and Vernon Dunteman of San Diego, Calif.
