Injuries suffered in a car crash near Warrensburg. MO. Saturday night proved fatal to William Wolfe Sunday morning. A former resident of the Bayard and Coon Rapids communities, Mr. Wolfe has been a resident of Bates City, MO. for several years.
At the time of the accident, Mr. Wolfe was accompanied by his wife, the former Nadine Wolf of Bayard. She was injured by not seriously.
Mr. Wolfe was in the Johnson Memorial hospital in Warrensburg when he died.
Born April 2, 1933, near Coon Rapids he attended school in Coon Rapids and Bayard. He served with the United States Marines and was a member of the Gurney Parker American Legion Post No. 357 in Coon Rapids.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 pm from the Christian Church in Coon Rapids with the pastor, Rev Kenneth Watson, officiating. Burial was made in Willow cemetery with military rites by the Coon Rapids Legion.
Organist was Mrs. Don Ridgeway and vocalists were Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cretsinger.
The casket was carried by Lyle Crisman, Dale Ridgeway, Don Carstens, Don Bielenberg, Floyd Moylan and Paul Whitver.
Besides his wife, he is survived by sons, Michael, Randy and Dennis, all at home, and his father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Charley Wolfe of Scranton. He was preceded in death by his mother.
