Lester Lafayette Moots, age 78, a resident of Higginsville for many years, passed away at Warrensburg, on June 23, 1948. He was born December 19, 1869 at Briston[sic], Ia.

He was married to the former Rena Sprieket[sic] at Wellsberg, Ia. on November 23, 1898[sic].

Survivors include a brother, Roy Moots, of St. James, Minn.

The funeral service, conducted by Rev. Jas. Moseley, will be held this Saturday afternoon at 2:30 from the Hoefer Funeral Home and interment will be made at the city cemetery in Higginsville. Graveside services will be under the auspices of the IOOF lodge and members of that organization are requested to meet at the local hall not later than 2 p.m. for the services.
