Dies at Independence

Frank Bowers, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Bowers, of Conrad, died at 10:30 Monday morning at the state hospital at Independence, where he had been for more than two years. Death was due to general paralysis of the insane.

He was born in Carroll county, Illinois, Feb. 14, 1874, and came to Conrad with his parents in 1883. He made his home there until he was taken to Independence two years ago. He was married to Miss Mary Ann Baker, Mar. 17, 1897, the ceremony taking place at the Baker home near Whitten. Mrs. Bowers died in 1913.

He is survived by his parents, two children, Mrs. Harry Nelson, Alden, and Floyd Bowers, Long Beach, Cal., and two brothers, Pearl Bowers, Eldora, and Ralph Bowers, Conrad.

The funeral was held at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from Pursel's funeral home in Marshalltown and burial was in Conrad.
