Died, early Friday morning March 30, 1894, Mrs. Elizabeth A. Penney, aged 59 years, 5 months and 25 days. Elizabeth A. Marshall was born in Brown county Ohio on October 5, 1834. She removed with her parents to Des Moines county Iowa, where, at the age of seventeen years she became a Christian, uniting with the M. E. Church and has since lived true to the church of her choice.

She was married to J. M. Penney October 4, 1855. She and her husband moved to Fremont county in 1876. A husband and five children are left to mourn her loss.

Services were held at the M. E. Church conducted by Rev. Bartholomew after which relatives and sympathizing friends followed her to her last resting place in the Sidney cemetery. "Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord."
