Fell Dead in the Street,
Charles City, Dec. 6th.—-George W. Furness, a pioneer settler of this county, and a respected resident of this city for many years, fell dead in this city this morning, in front of Miles & Son’s store, while conversing with some acquaintances. There was no outward sign of approaching death and he seemed cheerful to the last instant, dying with a peaceful smile upon his lips. Mr. Furness was a man past seventy years of age, a carpenter by trade.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Riverside Cemetery but his date of birth is unknown.
