Charles City, April 6
A young lad, son of Mr. Shipley, living about eight miles from this city, met with a severe accident a few days ago, which will result in the loss of his right arm. He was out in the woods hunting, and in setting his gun down on the ground, from a log on which he was standing, it was accidentally discharged. The whole load of shot, powder and wadding entered his right arm about midway between the shoulder and elbow, tearing the bone into splinters and mutilating the flesh horribly. His recovery is quite doubtful.
