FUNERAL FOR MRS. IVERSON, PIONEER OF COUNTY, HELD

Funeral services for Mrs. Nels Iverson,who died Dec. 23, [1928] from influenza and pneumonia at her home near Wallingford, were held Thursday from the residence and the Immanuel Lutheran church. the Rev. T. Hansen, former pastor of the Immanuel church officiated, assisted by the Rev. S. Strand and J. M. Wolden. [She was buried in High Lake cemetery.]

Pallbearers were A. J. Anderson, Lewis S. Berge, Simon Paulson, Lewis Larson, Andrew Rockne, and O. S. Hanson. The choir sang several appropriate numbers at the church and also at the grave. The casket was laden with floral wreaths and bouquets.

Anna Johnson Kythe was born at Voss, Norway, March 24, 1850. She immigrated to this country and came first to Chicago in the month of July 1871. Here she stayed for about eighteen weeks, then came to Iowa county, Wis., where she lived for three years and then came to Emmet county with her brother, Andrew, to the home of her sister, Mrs. L. C. Anderson. She was married in holy wedlock to Nels Iverson, Jan. 12, 1876, the Rev. M. C. Holseth performing the marriage. After the marriage they settled on the farm on which the Iverson family have lived for over fifty years. A few years ago Mr. and Mrs. Iverson moved to her son Edw. N. Iverson on April 29, 1927 and stayed there until Jan. 1928, when they moved to her son J. N. Iverson where she stayed until her death, Dec. 23, 1928. She was at the time of her death 78 years, 8 months, 29 days old.

Those left to mourn the loss of a dear wife, mother and grandmother are Nels Iverson, sons, Edw. N. Iverson and J. N. Iverson, both of Wallingford; and Mrs. O. B. Nelson of Rudd, Iowa, and six grandchildren. She had also two sisters living in Norway. Mrs. Iverson had been a pioneer member of the Immanuel church for over 52 years and also a faithful worker in the congregation and the Ladies Aid society.
