Graettinger – Mrs. Rose Ann Weir, 87, Graettinger, died Sunday [November 22, 1981] morning at Palo Alto County Hospital, Emmetsburg.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Methodist Church, Graettinger, with the Rev. George Brighton officiating. Interment will follow in the High Lake Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home, Graettinger.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Barnheart [Barnhart], she was born Aug. 25, 1894, at Grafton, Ill. She moved with her family to Palo Alto County when she was 10 and received her education in the county schools.

On Feb. 19, 1914, she married Charley E. Weir at Graettinger, and they farmed in the Graettinger area. She was a member of the Methodist Church, the UMW, a circle member and a member of the Riverside Club.

She is survived by three daughters Mrs. Dave (Berniece) Towers, San Jose, Calif., Mrs. Ida Shaw, Antioch, Calif., and Mrs. Frank (Irene) Elwood, Ogilvie, Minn.; thirteen grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren,

She has been preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and three sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 24, 1981)
