Ringsted – Services for Dorothy Grace Moore, 84, of Ringsted, will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian church with the Rev. John Werth and the Rev. Amanda Werth officiating. Interment will be in High Lake Township Cemetery, Wallingford. She died Sunday, Jan. 22, 1995 at her farm home. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home of Ringsted is in charge of arrangements.

She was born Feb. 9, 1910 near Paton, the daughter of John and Mary (Liljenberg) Paugh. She attended Paton and Jefferson elementary and junior high schools and graduated from Ringsted High School in 1928. She attended the University of Northern Iowa (Iowa State Teacher College) and then a Normal school. She taught in country schools in Denmark Township, Emmet County, Iowa prior to her marriage to Lee C. Moore, Dec. 27, 1932 at Omaha, Neb. The couple farmed west of Ringsted and in 1943 moved to a farm in Jack Creek Township. She continued to live on the farm after her husband’s death Nov. 13, 1990.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ringsted and active in the Presbyterian Women’s Association.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Vern (Margie) Powell, of Terril; five sons; Duane, of Armstrong, Dean and Gene, of Ringsted, Roy, of Bertha, Minn. and Charles of Worthington, Minn.; a foster son, George Paugh, of Gainesville, Fla.; 17 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one grandson. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 25, 1995)
