Wallingford Pioneer Died Last Monday
John K. Johnson, a pioneer resident of Wallingford, died in Albert Lea, Minnesota, last Monday, following an operation at that place. Mr. Johnson had been in failing health for some time and he submitted to the operation hoping for relief. Mr. Johnson has been identified with the growth of Emmet county for many years and has a host of friends that will be deeply grieved to learn of his death. The body is expected to reach Wallingford this evening and funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon. He leaves several children, among them being a son, N.J., who lives on the home place, Mrs. Olin Anderson and Mrs. Otto Larson of Wallingford, and Mrs. L.E. Berg, of this city. We are unable to get the obituary at this time, but will publish it next week. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, September 24, 1919)

Obituary of Mr. John K. Johnson
John K. Johnson was shipped here last Wednesday from Briclin, Minn. for burial. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at the home of a son, N.J. Johnson, and laid to rest in the east cemetery. He was an old pioneer resident, having lived on the farm where his son now lives, but he last few years he has lived with a daughter at Bricelyn, Minn. He leaves to mourn his death several children, among them, Mrs. Olen Anderson and Mrs. Otto Larson, living east of here and N.J. Johnson living on the home place, Mrs. Carter of Pequot, Minn., and a daughter living in Briclyn. He has been in ill health for some time and was taken to the Albert Lea hospital for treatment, and where he submitted to an operation but failed to improve and died at the hospital last Monday, Sept. 22. We extend sympathy to the bereaved ones. (Graettinger Times, Graettinger, IA, October 2, 1919)
