Lakefield, Minn. – Services for Richard Allen Jacobson, 45 of Lakefield, formerly of Graettinger, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Bethel Lutheran Church, Graettinger, with Pastor Robert Ericson officiating. Interment will be in the High Lake Cemetery, rural Wallingford. He died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 1985 at his home.

Friends may call at the Donovan-Leyson Funeral Home at Spirit Lake from noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Jacobson was born May 11, 1940 at Estherville, the son of Blanchard and Lilly (Sandvig) Jacobson. He attended the Graettinger School where he graduated in 1957. On June 6, 1959 he was united in marriage with Rose Lea Schacherer at St. Paul, Minn. the couple farmed in the Graettinger area from 1961 to 1969 when they moved to Lakefield and farmed. He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church at Graettinger.

Survivors include his wife Rose, Lakefield; two sons: Michael, with the U.S. Navy in Japan and Ronald of Milbank, S.D.; one daughter Connie Rose Jacobson of Corpus Christi, Tex.; his father Blanchard Jacobson, Graettinger; two brothers: David, Graettinger and Donald, Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister Rosemary. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 2, 1985)
