John N. Iverson Dies at 84
John N. Iverson, 84, life time resident of rural Wallingford, died at 4 a.m. today at his farm home east of Wallingford. Death was attributed to complications of advanced age. Mr. Iverson had been in poor health for many months and had been in rapidly failing health since last January.

Iverson was born on a farm east of Wallingford July 16, 1878, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Iverson. He received his education in the Jack Creek Township schools and attended Humboldt College at Humboldt. He was married to the former Olena Olson on Oct. 8, 1918, in Morris, Ill.

Iverson had lived on the farm on which he was born on until 19 years ago when he moved to his present farm home. He was a former member of the High Lake Township school board and former member of the Wallingford Telephone Company board of directors. He held several offices in the Immanuel Lutheran Church south of Gruver of which he was a member.

Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Leona) Kinnard, Estherville, and one son, Norman, who lives on the farm which his father was born and raised. Norman is the third generation of Iversons who have farmed the land. This land has been farmed by an Iverson for 92 years. Also surviving are five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, his parents, one brother and one sister.

Family services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday and public services will follow at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church south of Gruver with the Rev. Benjamin Coltvet officiating. Burial will be in High Lake Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Sternborg-Reese Funeral Home from Sunday noon until 10 a.m. on Tuesday at which time the body will be taken to the church where it will lie in state until time of service.
