Rites Will Be Saturday for Mrs. Berge
Mrs. Sylvester M. Berge died at 12:10 yesterday morning at the Oakdale sanitorium after a lingering illness of 10 months. Mrs. Berg was 45 years old at the time of her death.

Born April 26, 1906, in Emmet county, Mrs. Berge (Alvina Iverson) lived all her life in this county near High lake and received her grade school and high school education here in Emmet county. Mrs. Berge also attended Waldorf college at Forest City for one year.

On August 22, 1928, she was united in marriage to Sylvester Berge and lived on a farm near High lake until taken to Oakdale.

Survivors include her husband, two daughters, Viola, who will be graduated from Augustana college at Sioux Falls this week, and Janice, 12, who is living at home; one brother, Edgar Iverson, who lives near High lake and her father, Ed Iverson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:45 from the Sandin funeral home and at 2:30 in the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran church south of Gruver with the Rev. C.B. Gunderson officiating. Burial will be at High Lake cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 31, 1951)
