Estherville – Memorial services for Harold (Pete) Bailey, age 65, of Wallingford will be held at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home Wednesday, June 29, at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Jack Peterson officiating. Interment at High Lake Cemetery in rural Wallingford. There will be no visitation.

He died June 24, 1994 at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.

He was born January 17, 1929 in Peterson, Ia, the son of Joseph Wayne Bailey and Claira (Dodson) Bailey. He married Thelma Juanita Johnson on June 17, 1977 in Jackson, Minn. He attended schools in Clay County, Spencer, and Buffalo, Mo.

He lived in Milford, where he was employed as a semi-truck driver and also at Concrete, Sand and Gravel. He moved to Wallingford in 1975 and continued to live there following his marriage.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Graettinger and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Alvin (Donna) Kunz of Wallingford, Mother Claire Bailey of Homer, Neb., two brothers: Jack Bailey of Henderson, Kent., and Bill Bailey of Boise, Ida.; three sisters: Joyce Trower of Sioux City, Ia, Lou Suss of Lennox, S.D. and Eva Higgins of Lakewood Cal.; two grandchildren, one great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma, his father, two brothers and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 27, 1994)
