Mary Elizabeth Clymer, the daughter of Charles and Era (Ellis) Clymer, was born Aug. 16, 1925 at Rockwell City.

Mary grew up and spent her youth in the Wallingford area. She was united in marriage to Rex. M. Anderson on Dec. 30, 1943, in Jackson, Minn. Shortly after their marriage, she moved to Illinois to help in the war effort by working in the ammunition factory while Rex returned to active duty in Europe during World War II. After his return they farmed in Emmet County. Working side by side with her husband never deterred her from making everyone who came to her home feel special by cooking their favorite food, whether it be great potato salad or fabulous brownies. Her house was always the place everyone wanted to be. A great sense of humor, a sharp wit, a great conversationist, and a love of country music provided a great time for many. The loss of her presence here shall be felt by everyone who knew and loved her.

Left to treasure her memory are her four children: Patricia Kruse, Seattle, Wash.; Susie Jensen and her husband, Mike, Estherville; Diana Reiter and her husband, Joe, Ruthven; and Rex A. Anderson, Estherville. Mary had 15 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren, all of whom were very dear to her. She is survived by her brother, Charles D. Clymer, Armstrong, and one sister, Blanche Juilfs, of Pomeroy. Also surviving is a brother-in-law, Gail Anderson, Omaha, Neb.; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Matthes, Edith Clabaugh, Elizabeth Vacura, Margaret Clabaugh, and Jean (Clymer) Blom; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Rex; her parents; brother, George Clymer; and sister, Bernadine Stifel. Also preceding her in death were her brothers-in-law, George Stifel, Fred Juilfs, Wayne (Dude) Matthes, Stuart Anderson, Alvin Clabuagh, Alton Clabaugh, and Ray Vacura; sisters-in-law, Marvea Clymer, Dora Anderson, and Lenore Anderson; and three nephews, Ron Anderson, George Edward Stifel, and Larry Juilfs.
