Enoch Hanson Former County Treasurer Dies

Enoch Hamil Hanson passed away June 17, 1947, at the Holy Family hospital about noon, at the age of 81 years, one month and 12 days. Mr. Hanson was born on May 5, 1866, to Ole and Nekoleua Hanson. Mr. Hanson lived in Emmet County all his life except three years he spent at Laton, California.

Mr. Hanson was a member of the Ryan Lake Lutheran Church and on coming to Estherville to make his home he moved his membership to the Estherville Lutheran Church.

Mr. Hanson held several township offices. He was county supervisor for several years and Mr. Hanson was County Treasurer for 18 years. He was secretary and an active member of the Wallingford Farmers Elevator.

Preceding him in death are his parents, one brother and two sisters. Survivors include two brothers, Amos and John Hanson of Jack Creek township, and two sisters, Mrs. Lars Rockne of Estherville and Mrs. Mary Jensen of Laton, California, and six nieces and six nephews.
