WYOMING, Mich. - Clinton J. "Clint" Westemeyer, 72, of Wyoming, formerly of Rock Island, Ill., died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at the Illinois Veteran's Home, Quincy.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, Ill. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Holy Family Cemetery, Peosta, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at DeRoo Funeral Home, 1611 Seventh St., Moline.

Mr. Westemeyer worked as an electrician for several electrical companies in Grand Rapids for 30 years. He also owned a Karmel Korn franchise in Grand Rapids for 15 years.

He was born on Sept. 23, 1932, in Houston, son of Alfred and Thelma (Morgan) Westemeyer. He married Ruth Coulter in 1962, in Chillicothe, Ill.

He was an Army veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict.

He was a graduate of St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa, where he achieved All-American honors in football as an offensive end.

He was inducted into the Alleman High School, Rock Island, and St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Hall of Fame. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in 1958.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Vince MacNicol, of Caledonia; sons and daughter-in-law, Conan Westemeyer, of St. Martin, Virgin Islands, Kurtis and Jennifer Westemeyer, of Cincinnati, and Scott Westemeyer, of Grand Rapids; three grandchildren; and four brothers, Bertron "Bert" Westemeyer, of East Moline, Ill., David Westemeyer, of Davenport, John Westemeyer, of Woodbridge, Va., and Edward Westemeyer, of Moline.

Memorials may be given to the Believer's Together Building Fund at Christ the King Catholic Church and a favorite charity.
