Vera Pogemiller

Vera Mae Pogemiller, 73, of rural New London, died 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 1989, at her home.

Born April 8, 1915, in Wapello, she was the daughter of Claude and Pim Harris Miller. She married Everett Pogemiller May 16, 1939, in Mediapolis.

She was employed as a school teacher in Des Moines County rural and consolidated schools, including the Franklin Mills School. She was a member of the Yarmouth Community Church, the White Star Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mediapolis, the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Burlington, and the Rural Teachers Association.

Surviving are her husband; one son, Gerald Pogemiller, Joliet , Ill.; one sister, Alma Hellenthal, Mediapolis; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will follow an Order of the Eastern Order service at 7 p.m. today at Lunning Chapel.

The service for Mrs. Pogemiller will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Larry Laurence officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, northeast of New London.

A memorial has been established.
