Rodney Mason

Rodney W. Mason, 77, of Route 2, Morning Sun, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 1990, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born Dec. 18, 1912, in Mount Union, he was the son of Earl and Jesse Arnold Mason. He married Ethel Hamann May 28, 1955, at Wapello. She died Jan. 26, 1986.

He had been a farmer in the Yarmouth and Morning Sun communities before retiring. He was a 1932 graduate of Yarmouth High School. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.

Surviving are one stepson, Robert Lee Hamann of Morning Sun; two sisters, Oma Wallman of Yarmouth, and Wilma Schuff of Davenport; six step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The service for Mr. Mason will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, Morning Sun, with the Rev. Diane Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery at Mount Union.

A memorial has been established.
