Betty M. Siefken, 73, Burlington, died at 4:35 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 1997, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born Aug. 6, 1923, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Esther Breuer Schmeiser. On Nov. 11, 1941, she married Verdon J. "Red" Siefken in Dodgeville.

Mrs. Siefken was a waitress for many years at Arion Restaurant and Hungry Bear.

She was a graduate of Sperry High School and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Nancy Baugher of Burlington; and one son, William Siefken of Phoenix, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.

Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. Tuesday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Siefken will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gerald Stouvenel officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Burlington Catholic School System.
